Flair Airlines unveiled its “Flair FWD” transformation at a Toronto event, showcasing major customer experience upgrades while maintaining low fares. The carrier has already implemented improvements including a redesigned website, digital boarding passes, transparent delay communications, an On-Time Guarantee ($60 voucher for 60+ minute delays), and Apple AirTag tracking. Coming December: “Flair Express” priority boarding, new fare bundles, and “Flair Vacations” packages.

The Fairlyne Partnership: Flair will become North America’s first airline to offer ticket resale through Paris-based Fairlyne. Passengers who can’t make their flights can sell back their seats if the flight is popular. “Customers get more of a refund than they would if they just didn’t show up,” said CCO Eric Tanner. “And for us, it’s a win because we can resell that ticket.” The December launch positions Flair as a pioneer in flexible North American ticket resale.

Six months after launching its Flair FWD initiative, Flair Airlines has unveiled major customer experience enhancements while maintaining its low-cost positioning. The Canadian carrier has already implemented improvements including a redesigned AWS-powered website, digital boarding passes, transparent delay communications, an On-Time Guarantee ($60 e-voucher for delays over 60 minutes), and Apple AirTag baggage tracking. Coming in December, Flair will become North America’s first airline to offer ticket resale through a partnership with Fairlyne, allowing passengers to sell back seats on popular routes. Other upcoming features include Flair Express priority boarding for carry-on customers (launching December 3), four new fare bundles (Basic, Lite, Plus, Max), and Flair Vacations—a flight-hotel package platform developed with HBX for Caribbean and Latin American destinations. According to CEO Maciej Wilk and CCO Eric Tanner, these changes reflect Flair’s evolution into a more reliable, transparent, and customer-centric carrier that delivers value beyond just pricing, serving 25 destinations with its Boeing 737 fleet.

Flair Airlines is set to become North America’s first airline to offer ticket resale through a partnership with Fairlyne, launching in December 2025. The innovative service will allow passengers who can no longer make their flights to potentially sell back their seats to the airline if the flight is in high demand. This benefits both travelers seeking refunds and the airline’s ability to offer more low-cost fares to last-minute customers. The Fairlyne partnership is part of Flair’s broader “Flair FWD” initiative to enhance customer experience while maintaining affordable pricing. The timing ahead of the holiday season positions Flair as a pioneer in North American aviation for flexible ticket resale, following similar trends in European and other international markets.

SNCF is making a major change to its Ouigoswap resale platform, launched two and a half years ago to help travelers recoup costs when they can’t use their tickets. Previously, the service only allowed resale when trains were fully booked, a limitation that pushed passengers toward unofficial resale channels and social media marketplaces. Starting now, Ouigoswap opens to all trains (except the Paris-Brussels route), enabling ticket resale regardless of capacity. Sellers receive 80% of their ticket price back as a voucher valid for one year, while buyers can save up to 50% off current fares. According to Ouigo director Jérôme Laffon, this expansion aims to curb parallel resale markets while making last-minute tickets accessible to more customers. The move transforms what was described as “a small revolution in low-cost train ticket distribution” into a more comprehensive solution for flexible travel planning.

Previously limited to fully-booked trains, resale is now available for all trains operated by SNCF’s low-cost carrier. Launched in 2022, Ouigoswap allows passengers who can no longer travel to recoup 80% of their ticket price (including options) as a voucher when their ticket sells. Starting July 9th, the service extends to all Ouigo high-speed and classic trains—whether full or not—except for the Paris-Brussels route. Buyers benefit from increased availability and discounts of up to 50% off current prices. For example, a July 15th Paris-Marseille ticket sells for €65-69 on Ouigoswap compared to €89 through regular channels, giving travelers both flexibility and savings while helping others complete their journeys.

SNCF is expanding its Ouigoswap resale platform to all trains, moving beyond its previous restriction to fully-booked services only. Launched in 2022, the platform allows passengers to resell their non-refundable Ouigo tickets, but until now, resale was only possible when trains were at capacity. This limitation pushed travelers toward unofficial resale channels on social media and third-party websites. By opening the service to all routes and improving visibility of resold tickets, SNCF aims to eliminate these parallel markets while optimizing train occupancy. Buyers can find tickets discounted up to 50%, while sellers recoup 80% of the original purchase price if their ticket sells. The move represents a significant shift in SNCF’s low-cost ticketing strategy, making the resale process more accessible and keeping transactions within its official ecosystem.

Published on July 16, 2025

Transavia France is breaking new ground as the first French low-cost carrier to allow passengers to resell their flight tickets. Launched on July 15th in partnership with startup Fairlyne, the service lets travelers put their tickets back on sale up until one hour before departure through the airline’s digital channels. If the ticket sells, the original passenger receives a refund ranging from the tax amount up to 50% of the total price.

This initiative addresses the issue of no-shows while offering travelers a flexible alternative between outright cancellation and costly fare changes. The fully integrated, white-label platform operates seamlessly within Transavia’s booking system, with no additional fees or third-party intermediaries involved. This move positions Transavia as a pioneer in the French low-cost sector and could pave the way for similar services across the industry.
