Ouigo ticket resale was limited to fully-booked trains, SNCF now opens it to all routes (to end parallel markets)

SNCF is expanding its Ouigoswap resale platform to all trains, moving beyond its previous restriction to fully-booked services only. Launched in 2022, the platform allows passengers to resell their non-refundable Ouigo tickets, but until now, resale was only possible when trains were at capacity. This limitation pushed travelers toward unofficial resale channels on social media and third-party websites. By opening the service to all routes and improving visibility of resold tickets, SNCF aims to eliminate these parallel markets while optimizing train occupancy. Buyers can find tickets discounted up to 50%, while sellers recoup 80% of the original purchase price if their ticket sells. The move represents a significant shift in SNCF’s low-cost ticketing strategy, making the resale process more accessible and keeping transactions within its official ecosystem.
