Want to resell your OUIGO train tickets? There’s news

SNCF is making a major change to its Ouigoswap resale platform, launched two and a half years ago to help travelers recoup costs when they can’t use their tickets. Previously, the service only allowed resale when trains were fully booked, a limitation that pushed passengers toward unofficial resale channels and social media marketplaces. Starting now, Ouigoswap opens to all trains (except the Paris-Brussels route), enabling ticket resale regardless of capacity. Sellers receive 80% of their ticket price back as a voucher valid for one year, while buyers can save up to 50% off current fares. According to Ouigo director Jérôme Laffon, this expansion aims to curb parallel resale markets while making last-minute tickets accessible to more customers. The move transforms what was described as “a small revolution in low-cost train ticket distribution” into a more comprehensive solution for flexible travel planning.
